Progress Report Five

I’ve just arrived back from a few weeks at home for Christmas. It’s been lovely but I’m eager to get back to work.

I managed to finish a rough cut to show my tutor before I left. Unfortunately it was still about 30 seconds too long but otherwise the feedback was very positive so I was able to go home feeling relatively relaxed. He did advise that I tried to add a more factual tone to my opening to really focus in on the issues. I was concerned it wasn’t ‘newsy’ enough so I completely understood what he meant. I’m going to try and find some punchy statistics to add some weight to what I’m talking about as at the moment it does feel a little like my voice over is talking very generally about ‘the issues’ without really giving an explanation as to what they really are and why they exist.

I think it’s done me good to go a substantial space of time without listening to the project as I can clearly hear what needs improvement now. It can be difficult to realise what changes are needed when you listen to the same seven minutes over and over again over the space of a week.

I’ve also got my 1,000 word justification essay to finish. I started it at home so I should be able to get it done in plenty of time, even with a few days of editing still on the cards.

Fingers crossed, the next significant development in my project for me to post on here will be its completion!
